Here are brief instructions on returning the oscilloscope to factory defaults.
Screen capture example VI
This is a LabVIEW example that demonstrates retrieval of a screen capture from a Rigol DS series scope.
DS1000Z Deep Memory Data Example
The attached PDF shows the command sequence for returning deep memory data remotely.
Does the DS1000Z series timestamp files?
No. The timestamp (Date/Time) is not able to be adjusted on the DS1000Z, and is not considered operable.
How do I save an inverted image of the display on a DS1000Z scope (to save on ink)?
You can configure the DS1000Z to save black-and-white as well as inverted images to a USB stick. This can save on black ink when printing hardcopies of displayed images.

How to find the expanded hardware revision of a DS1000Z, DS2000A, DS4000, and DS6000 scope
Print a picture/display using the STORAGE menu and enable parameters. This will save off a text file of the scope details. You can also enter Project Mode and then check the system. - Set the trigger type to Edge - Press the bottom/right grey/blue softkey next to the display

Certificate of Calibration DS1000Z
This example configures the scope for a single trigger and will not complete until the sweep is finished. This can be used to sequence data collection over multiple trigger events or over a long time period.
Square wave displayed as sine wave on an oscilloscope.
A scope user attempting to view a square wave on an oscilloscope might view a sine wave of the same frequency in place of a square wave. This is not a necessarily a sign of a defect with the scope or the generator, however an effect of the constituent higher frequency harmonic
How do I configure a DS1000B Series Oscilloscope to return maximum data lengths?
This note covers how to configure the DS1000B series of oscilloscope to return the maximum data length. This can be useful for storing to a USB memory stick.
Can you set up any RIGOL scopes to stop triggering after a specific averaging number?
Not at this time. The average acquisition mode for the DS1000E/D, DS1000CA, DS1000B, DS4000, and DS6000 scopes are identical in function. They collect a boxcar average of the last acquisitions on a rolling basis.
When I plug in my instrument via USB, I get a Windows Page Fault error ( Blue Screen of Death / BSoD ).
There is a known issue with the IVI VISA Shared components version. See attached document for more details.
Software Compatibility
The attached PDF file describes Windows 7 Compatibility Issues.
VISA Runtime for Apple OS X
To use a VISA compatible Rigol instrument under Apple OS X, the user must install National Instruments VISA run-time engine for OS X As of this writing the latest OS X VISA run-time engine from National Instruments is NI-VISA 5.0 NI-VISA 5.0 can be downloaded directly
What is the capacitance of the RP6150 and RP6150A passive probe?
1.6pF.
Help File Error: Navigation to web page cancelled.
Some instrument manuals are compiled HTML files with extensions ending in .CHM. On occasion, they have shown "Navigation to web page cancelled". Here are some steps to help solve that error.

Here is a listing of the standard probes that ship with each scope.
Why does my data not appear to have 8 bits of resolution?
The displayed data is a subset of the actual total measurement range. This is mainly due to a smaller number of vertical pixels than bits available. See attached for more details.
Benefits of deep memory
Modern oscilloscopes feature many powerful tools to help you get your job done. Here are some of the benefits of deep memory.
Bits vs. dBs
Here are instructions on converting bits of resolution to dBs.
My Instrument IVI Driver does not appear in the LabVIEW tools palette.
You may need to manually find and convert the IVI driver. See attachment for more details.
The instrument not recognized over the USB bus
In some cases, an instrument may not be recognized over the USB bus. Here are some troubleshooting hints to help.
Are your products UL or CSA listed?
At this time, many of our products are C TUV USA listed. Per the TUV website,http://www.certipedia.com/companies/37679/certificates?locale=enThe C TUV US mark is recognized as the equivalent and direct replacement to the UL and CSA marks by city, county and state/provincial

Why does my DS series trigger rate slow down with failed waveforms in Pass/Fail mode?
When a waveform fails the pass/fail mask test, the trigger hold off is intentionally increased to give the observer time to see the failed waveform.
LAN Troubleshooting using PuTTY
PuTTY is an open source network terminal emulator. It can be easily configured to help troubleshoot LAN connection issues to instrumentation.

Firmware update troubleshooting Tips
Here are some tips if you are having issues updating the firmware on a Rigol product.
Direct waveform transfer from a DS scope to a DG4000 generator
You can directly transfer any waveform captured on a DS series scope to a DG4000 generator using a USB cable and a few easy steps. See attached for more details.
Application Note
Why can't I get a DSA battery and is there a workaround for portable use?
We are unable to import the Li-Ion batteries at this time. We recommend using a true sine wave inverter for portable use. See attached for performance data for a DSA800 while running on battery.
